It's the four letter word we all love to hate. D I E T. The mere mention of the word sends you running out of the room, screaming at the top of your lungs! Well, maybe it's not that bad, but for a lot of us, starting and sticking to a weight loss and exercise plan is not easy.
I'm going to talk about a few things you can do to help stick to your weight loss plan in this article. Just a few simple tips to get you started on your weight loss journey.
1. Educate Yourself
Tell your doctor you are interested in starting a weight loss and exercise plan. Ask him if he has any recommendations. Go online and search for weight loss information. The more you research weight loss, the better prepared you will be on your journey to lose weight.

2. Set Realistic Goals for Yourself
If you start out by thinking I'm going to lose 25 pounds this month, you are just setting yourself up for failure. Set a more realistic goal of 4 pounds in two weeks. You can reach this level of weight loss safely and without feeling the need to starve yourself. Realistic goals will improve your chance to succeed.
3. Keep a Weight Loss Journal
Get yourself a notebook and use it! Write down what you ate for breakfast, lunch and dinner. What in between meal snacks you had. Did you drink your 8 glasses of water today? What exercises you did today and how long you did them. Any goals you've reached. You can write just about anything in your journal. As you continue on your weight loss plan, you can look back at these entries and see the progress you have made since starting your plan.
4. Keep a Positive Attitude
You must remain positive throughout your weight loss plan. You won't lose the weight overnight. It will take time for you and your body to adjust to the changes you will be going through.
These are four simple but very important tips to consider when starting your weight loss and exercise plan. Follow them and you'll be off to an excellent weight loss beginning.
